Paul Martin has over 18 years experience in both delivering marketing strategies for global brands throughout Europe, USA & APAC, as well as holding various leadership roles within companies and agencies, seeing him execute on marketing campaigns, develop service level offerings, lead go-to-market & establish high performing teams.

Paul is currently the Head of Marketing at Prospa, the #1 non-bank lender to small businesses in Australia & New Zealand.

On the tools

Delivering across a range of verticals for many years has seen me execute on both traditional media (TV, radio, out-of-home, PR, direct mail, etc) and digital marketing (SEO, PPC, CRO, affiliates, social media, automation, etc) channels.

Most recently I have become a leading expert in emerging AI Search & LLM optimisation, assisting brands with their Generative Search Optimisation strategies, having been awarded “AI Consultant of the Year” and “Best LLM / GEO Consultant”.

The journey

Having began my career in the UK, I moved out to Australia in 2013, challenged with establishing a new office for Epiphany in Sydney, the first international location for the agency.

Recruiting staff, building brand equity, securing clients and delivering digital marketing services, I was able to achieve a $1+ million turnover in year one. The agency continued to grow in APAC over the following years & became the best performing office location in the group.

Following an acquisition by Jaywing, and having lead on the subsequent rebrand across the agency, I left for a new challenge after being approached by the Brisbane-based ecommerce marketing agency PeriscoPe to head up their new Sydney office.

And then

Following 12+ years working agency-side, I stepped in-house and joined hipages Group as their Head of Growth Marketing & Acquisition. hipages (ASX:HPG) are Australia and New Zealand’s largest online tradie marketplace, encompassing the brands of hipages, Tradiecore & Builderscrack.

As part of the senior leadership team, I headed up multiple marketing functions and x-functional product teams, with the remit of growing both the B2C and B2B sides of their marketplace.

Today

I currently hold the position of Head of Marketing at Prospa, the award winning number 1 non-bank lender to small businesses in Australia & New Zealand.

As a part of the go-to-market leadership team, my role sees me responsible for driving commercial outcomes through marketing, advertising, comms and brand, for all of Prospa’s products & services, both directly and via our partner network across APAC.

In addition to my day job, I continue to take on a small number of clients in a freelance capacity, specifically across digital marketing channels – if you think I may be able to assist you, please get in touch and I look forward to connecting.
